We all like to indulge a little over the holidays, but it can leave us feeling sluggish and less than motivated to get started on those New Years resolutions. This one-day meal plan is designed to get you started eating right, feeling great and ready to continue living a healthy lifestyle. Moving forward, try mixing these simple meal and snack ideas into your regular diet. Each meal in this plan is packed with antioxidants, healthy fibre, plant-based protein and vitamins sure to give you a all-natural boost in energy.

Use this meal plan after over-indulging to help cleanse and re-set the body, and the mind, and get you back on track with healthy eating. Providing plenty of calories and nutrition, this meal plan won’t leave you hungry. You can go about your day as normal, get in a workout and have enough energy for everything else you’d like to do. Or, just relax and take a day to yourself. It would be perfect for a day when you can just be at home, reading your favourite book and sipping on some herbal tea.

This meal plan is completely plant-based, gluten-free and mostly raw so it’s suitable for those following a plant-based diet. It would also be a great start for those looking to reduce their consumption of animals products.

You’ll want to prepare the night before, making sure you have all the groceries you need to complete the plan. It’s also a good idea to set an intention for the day – declare why you’re doing it and what your goals are.

Tips for the Detox
1. Drink plenty of water.
2. Eat every 2-3 hours to stabilize your blood sugar levels.
3. As an alternative to water, sip on herbal tea throughout the day.
4. Practice yoga or other light exercises, enough to work up a sweat.
5. This is best done on a weekend when you have access to your kitchen and time to prepare your meals.
6. If you get hungry during the day, snack on a few raw almonds or a sliced organic apple.

Upon Rising

Glass of warm water with the juice of ½ a lemon
Bonus: Add ¼ tsp of cayenne pepper and 1 tsp of organic maple syrup

Breakfast

Superfood Smoothie
1 – 1/2 cups water (start with 1 cup of water and adjust to desired thickness)
1 scoop North Coast Naturals Ultimate Daily Greens
2 tbsp North Coast Naturals Ultimate Raw Hemp Smoothie in Berry Burst
1 cup frozen berries
1 banana
1 handful of spinach

Morning Snack

2 stalks of celery topped with 2 tbsp of organic almond butter

Lemon Ginger ACV Tea
1 inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and thinly sliced
Juice from 1 lemon
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp maple syrup

Directions: Boil the ginger in a small pot of water for 10-15 minutes. Remove from heat and add lemon, apple cider vinegar and maple syrup. Drink.

Lunch

Kale Salad 
1 cup kale, de-stemmed, cut into bite-size pieces
1 carrot, thinly sliced
½ cucumber, diced
½ red pepper, diced
2 tbsp North Coast Naturals Hemp Seeds
½ beet, grated
½ cup organic sprouts
Dressing (mix well and pour over salad)
Juice of ½ a lemon
2 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
3 tbsp fresh basil, finely chopped
2 tsp red wine vinegar
1 tbsp organic maple syrup
1 clove garlic, minced
pinch of sea salt
pinch of black pepper

Afternoon Snack

Green Smoothie
12 ounces organic 100% apple juice
2 cups fresh spinach
1 banana
1 cup frozen pineapple

Dinner

Simple Detox Salad
1 cup shredded carrots
½ cup broccoli, stems removed, finely chopped
½ cup cauliflower, stems removed, finely chopped
2 tbsp pumpkin seeds
2 tbsp raisins
2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
Dressing (mix well and pour over salad)
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
2 tbsp tahini
1 clove garlic, minced
salt and pepper to taste

Dessert

Goji Berry and Chia Pudding
½ cup unsweetened almond milk
2 tbsp chia seeds
2 tsp organic maple syrup
½ tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp goji berries

Directions: Place all ingredients in a container and shake well. Place in the fridge for 20-30 minutes or until it thickens to a pudding-like consistency.
